- Yankees win their second World Series in a row in a sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals. Hall of Famers featured in the lineups include Yankees manager Miller Huggins, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Earle Combs, Leo Durocher, Waite Hoyt, Tony Lazzeri and Herb Pennock, as well as Cardinals stars Bill McKechnie (manager), Grover Cleveland Alexander, Jim Bottomley (who won NL MVP in the 1928 regular season), Frankie Frisch, Chick Hafey, Jesse Haines, and Rabbit Maranville.

- Very good condition; lineup pages are unscored and clean. Middle page (the Yankees lineup) is loose from the top staple but still attached. Both staples show visible rust with some very light residual discolouration around them on some interior pages. Covers show some visible handling wear including some small scratches and spotting but largely present very well with minimal edgewear and no particularly notable defects. Overall, very well preserved for its age
