- On May 1st, 1946 the Montreal Royals take on Jersey City in Montreal's home opener to begin the International League baseball season
- The game was played at Delorimier Stadium in Montreal
- This marked Jackie Robinson's first ever appearance in Montreal for the Royals
- The first homerun of the 1946 International League season was also hit in this game
- 15,745 fans attend the game to welcome Robinson including Maurice Richard of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens
- Robinson goes 1 for 4 with a walk and a run scored but Jersey City went on to defeat the Royals by a score of 13-9
- Page 6 notes "Jack Robinson has the reputation of being the fastest Montreal player on bases; he can surely steal a base, watch him and you will see"
- Robinson was so well received by Montreal fans he stayed on the field for an hour after the game signing autographs
- Excellent condition; crease noted on upper right corner of front cover along with a very small tear beside it. Small spot of red visible above the left kneecap on cover image. Some red ink from the cover has faintly bled into page 2 and this type of faint ink bleeding appears on some other pages due to the brightness of the red ink used throughout the program. The inner pages are otherwise clean displaying only minor general handling wear around the edges on certain pages. The rear cover also displays very minor handling, corner and edge wear along with some spots of discoloration. The spine and staples are fully intact. The Montreal lineup page is partially scored in pencil and appears to confirm Robinson went 1 for 4 with a walk and a run scored. The Jersey City lineup page is unscored
