- One of two NBA pre-season games played at the Gardens that year, the other being between the Dallas Mavericks and Detroit Pistons
- The Gardens was the site of the first ever NBA game, played between the Toronto Huskies and the New York Knicks
- Aside from the Huskes and exhibition games, the Buffalo Braves played a total of 16 games at the Maple Leaf Gardens in the 1970s, and the Toronto Raptors played six between 1997 and 1999
