- Authentic Chilean Huaso spurs (or espuelas), presented to Team Canada at the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship for Women in Valdivia, Chile in September, 2007. Team Canada finished in fifth place in the pre-Olympic tournament, with losses to Cuba and the US, and wins over Jamaica in the preliminary round, and wins over Mexico and Chile in the knockout stage. Spurs have an intricate design on the sides and are distinguished by the number of spokes they possess, which produce a “singing” sound when spun. Small ribbons with the colours of the Chilean flag are loosely thread through the spurs. Comes with their original presentation case, with a plaque denoting the tournament, a “Federation de Basquebol de Chile” crest in the middle, and branded by Arte Bismarck, a local company in Santiago, Chile that specializes in trophies and presentation pieces
- 8” long, 3.5” wide with 4” diameter spurs
- Excellent condition; spurs themselves are functional and show little to no visible handling wear. Ceiling of the box has some small indentations and a small tear, caused by the spurs. Ribbons have spots of discolouration from the metal. Outside of presentation box shows little to no visible handling wear.
