- 1920 Hamilton Tigers Gold Pocket Watch NHL National Hockey League
- 1920 The Hamilton Tigers, one of the oldest teams in the National Hockey League NHL, were a professional ice hockey team based in Hamilton Ontario. They were founded in 1920 and competed in the National Hockey League from 1920 to 1925. Despite finishing first in the league in the 1924-1925 season, a players strike before the playoffs resulted in the dissolution of the team.
- This 14K gold Zenith, 17 jewel pocket watch was presented to W.E. Knapman in 1920 from the Hamilton Tigers hockey teams "in appreciation of service" (as inscribed on the inside of the case). It is a striking presentation example that would have been given to Knapman following the first season of play, in appreciation for his service as a supporting member of the team. It is unknown what role Knapman had with the team, but he was not a player. The inner back is inscribed by the team The outer back has knappman's initials (WEK). Note the outer book is a little difficult to open but opens easily with the use of a jewel
- The watch is in overall excellent condition. Dial is in very good condition Watch is intact. Mechanism is not working.Item was sourced from the Angelo Sovelli collection known for its many unique Hamilton Ontario related items.
