- Howie Morenz memorial game played on Nov. 2, 1937. Pin and ribbon sold at the game to honour Morenz's sudden passing on March 8, 1937 after suffering an injury in a January 29th, game vs Chicago Blackhawks. Proceeds from the night were presented to the Morenz family. The game played the night before the opening of the 1937/39 NHL season schedule featured an all star team made of Canadiens and Maroons players vs an all star team made up of players from other teams in the NHL.

- Morenz was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played 14 seasons for 3 NHL teams: the Montreal Canadiens, the Chicago Black Hawks, and the New York Rangers
- Won the Stanley Cup 3 times, all with the Canadiens
- During his NHL career he placed in the top 10 leading scorers ten times
- For 7 straight seasons, Morenz led the Canadiens in both goals scored and points
- Winner of the Hart Trophy as the most valuable player of the league 3 times, and he led the league once in goals scored and twice in points scored.
- One of the most dominant players in the league and set several league scoring records
- Excellent condition; some light thread fraying at the top and bottom of the ribbon. Some spots of dark discoloration on the back of the ribbon. Pin displays little to no signs of visible handling use
