- Detroit would go on to win the game by a score of 5-2 with Adam Graves scoring his first career NHL goal on assists from Steve Yzerman and Paul Maclean
- Graves would go on to win two Stanley Cups. One with the Edmonton Oilers (1990) and one with the New York Rangers (1994)
