- April 24th, 1947 William Ezinicki of the Toronto Maple Leafs received a Bonus cheque for winning the Stanley Cup, signed by Coach and Hall of Famer Hap Day.
- William Ezinicki won 3 Stanley cups with the Toronto Maple Leafs 1947-1949. He was known as a gritty hard hitting player. After retiring from hockey he became a professional golfer. He was elected to the New England section of the PGA Hall of Fame in 1997.
- Hap Day enjoyed a 33 year career as a player, referee, coach and assistant general manager. 28 of which were spent in various capacities with the Maple Leafs. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1961.
