- During the second period of a February 22, 2020 NHL game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, both of the Carolina Hurricanes goalies (James Reimer and Peter Mrazek) were injured. Ayres, who worked as a building operator and zamboni driver for the Toronto Marlies of the AHL, was brought in as an emergency backup and eventually led the Canes to a 6-3 victory
- Ayres remains the only mid game emergency backup goaltender to record an NHL win
- 19.5" long
- Excellent condition; autograph presents well with no smudging, bleeding or fading, little to no visible handling wear apart from some slight discoloration around the edges
