- Alex Smith was a Canadian hockey star defenseman. He started his career with the Ottawa Senators, winning a Stanley Cup with them in the 1926-27 season. From there he was picked up the Detroit Falcons and traded to the Boston Bruins before finishing his career with the New York Americans. Throughout his playing days, the English-Canadian athlete amassed nearly 100 points
