- General Motors are an American multinational automotive manufacturing company. By sales it was the largest in the United States in 2022, and was for 77 years worldwide until Toyota dethroned it in 2008. They have had several partnerships centered around hockey, including the OHL's Oshawa Generals and they were previously the sponsor for the arena housing the Vancouver Canucks
- The 1935-36 NHL season was the 19th in the National Hockey League's existence. In the Stanley Cup Final the Detroit Red Wings bested the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-1 in the series to win the trophy. The season's MVP was Eddie Shore of the Boston Bruins, and the leading scorer was Sweeney Schriner of the New York Americans
