- Historical Game: 1938 Press/Wire Photo in game 3 of the playoffs between the New York Americans vs New York Rangers. Series were best 2 of 3 games.
- There was no score in the first period however the second period would put the Rangers up by 2 to 0 with goals by Shibicky and Hextall. Within the first 5 minutes of the 3rd period, Lorne Carr would get the first goal for the Americans and just past the mid-way point, Nels Stewart would tie the game. The game would go into 4 over-time periods, when at 10:38 Lorne Carr would score the winning goal, setting a NHL record for the longest game in Hockey.
