- Excellent condition; minor edgewear throughout, minor corner creasing, general creasing from folding, otherwise no notable creasing or tears, minor stain on the back cover
- Imperial Oil is a Canadian petroleum company, and supplies Esso-brand service stations. From 1934 and onwards (until 1976) Imperial Oil was a sponsor for CBC and Hockey Night in Canada, leading to the creating of their schedule
- The 1939-40 NHL season was the 23rd in the National Hockey League's existence. In the Stanley Cup Final the New York Rangers bested the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2 in the series to win the trophy. The season's MVP was Ebbie Goodfellow of the Detroit Red Wings, and the leading scorer was Milt Schmidt of the Boston Bruins
