- It competed with the Toronto Daily Star, which supported the Liberals
- The paper was shut down in 1971 and many employees moved over to the Toronto Sun
- The Telegrams subscriber list was sold to the Toronto Star for $10 million
- Very good condition; minor rusting and scuffing on front; slight material loss on paint; small metal warping on bottom left corner; very presentable for its age
