- Historic Mickey Mantle rookie program from his first game after signed with the New York Yankees
- Before the start of the regular MLB season Mickey Mantle and the Yankees play 2 exhibition games in Ebbets Field against the Brooklyn Dodgers. April 15th, 1951 since the Dodgers did not have their 1951 programs ready on this date and they therefore used 1950 program, but included the updated lineup page (1951 lineups of both the Dodgers and the Yankees)
- There is a news article included with the program and the ticket that confirms that this the first game the 19 year old Mantle plays as an official member of the New York Yankees, as he was purchased by the Yankees from the Kansas Blues just prior to the April 15th game. Mantle is noted in the program as a non starter #6 playing outfield. However because of his signing the Yankees started Mantle and he played the entire game getting 5 at bats. Mantle did not disappoint getting 4 hits including a home run in the 8th inning that left the park.
- Measurements: Ticket is 1.25” x 3.5” Program is 6.5” x 9.75” and 16 pages
- Ticket shows some light tape residue at the top and bottom edges with discolouration. Very minor crease emanating from the left side as well as along the top and bottom edges, mostly visible from the back. No rips or tears.
- Program is in great condition; date and score is written neatly in pen at the top left corner of the front cover. Little to no notable creasing on covers or any pages. Lineup page is unscored but shows some residue and discolouration where ticket was once taped. Small surface tear along the bottom edge of the Dodgers lineup page. Very small tear along top edge of the front cover, as well as a small tear in the bottom left corner of the back cover. Some very light edge discolouration from age throughout but presents very well overall.
