The Brooklyn (now Los Angeles) Dodgers were led by Jackie Robinson, Duke Snider, and George Shuba, who all batted over .300. Recovering from the retirement of Joe DiMaggio, the Yankees were led by Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra
- In Game 4, the score was 1–0 in the eighth, a Johnny Mize home run in the fourth off Joe Black being the difference, and Mickey Mantle scored a key run to seal the game for New York
- Very good condition, program is complete and neatly scored, some slight foxing on cover, corner and edge wear, some rusting around staples
