- The Royals were a minor league professional baseball teams based out of Montreal, Quebec that played during the years 1897-1917 and 1928-1960
- They were the top farm club (Class AAA) of the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1939
- Pioneering African-American player Jackie Robinson was a member of the team for the 1946 season
- 1960 would be the last season for the club as the franchise moved to Syracuse
