- On October 17, 1965, the Green Bay Packers bested the Detroit Lions 31-21 at Tiger Stadium, extending their record to 5-0. They would go on to tie with the Baltimore Colts in the western conference for 1st, and would beat them in a tie-breaker to match with the defending champion Cleveland Browns in the National Football League (NFL) Championship game. The packers would go on to win 23-12, their 9th title and 3rd under coach Vince Lobardi
