- The first AFL–NFL World Championship Game (later known as Super Bowl I was an American football game played on January 15, 1967, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California. The National Football League (NFL) champion Green Bay Packers defeated the American Football League (AFL) champion Kansas City Chiefs by the score of 35–10. The NFL and AFL felt animosity towards one another, leading to a very competitive and fierce game. At the end of the first half, the scored was 14-10 for the Green Bay Packers. They would then go on to score 21 unanswered points in the second half led by their quarterback Bart Starr, who would be named MVP
