- Engraving inside indicates 14K gold and #31 Keith G. Abel (presumably the person it was originally presented to)
- Size 12.5 with 40 points worth of diamonds in the shape of Mattingly's jersey number 23, surrounded by "Don Mattingly Captain"
- One shank has "1984 Batting Champion" and a miniature Yankee Stadium, whereas the other shank has "85 MVP" above "307 Lifetime Average" and his retirement date of 8/31/87
