- Leland Stanford MacPhail Jr. was an American front-office executive in the MLB. A baseball executive for 45 years, he was the director of player personnel and general manager for the New York Yankees, the president and general manager of the Baltimore Orioles, and was president of the American League. He and his father, Larry MacPhail (co-owner of the Yankees in 1945) are the only father-and-son duo in the Baseball Hall of Fame
