- "Ted" Williams was an American Professional Baseball player and manager. He was primarily a left-fielder, and played for the MLB's Boston Red Sox for his entire career, from 1939 to 1960. He is considered to be one of the game's greatest hitter, as he is the last player in the MLB to hit over .400 in a season, and has the highest on base percentage (OBP) of all time. Among his many accomplishments were 19 all-star selections, two American League MVP awards, six-time American League batting champion wins
