- Inducted in to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1949
- Ross won the Stanley cup twice during his 13 year playing career. Once in 1907 with the Kenora Thistles and then again in 1908 with the Montreal Wanderers
- Ross made many contributions to the game of hockey in addition to his playing, coaching and managing career. He helped create the style of hockey puck that is used to this day, advocated for an improved net design, and in 1947 donated the Art Ross Trophy which is awarded to the leading goal scorer of the NHL regular season
