- He was remembered for his resolution of the Black Sox Scandal, in which he expelled 8 members of the Chicago Black Sox for conspiring to lose the World Series
- Kenesaw Landis made many efforts to clean up the game of baseball during his tenure but one contentious issue remains in that no players of color played in the Major Leagues during his time as Commissioner. Jackie Robinson finally broke through the color barrier in 1947
- Landis was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame by special vote shortly after he passed away
