  • Late 1930s Detroit Red Wings players jacket attributed to have been worn by Hockey Hall of Famer Tiny Thompson
  • In the early 1980s the jacket was found in Calgary. Thompson's daughter, Sandra discovered a chest which contained the jacket. Details regarding the find and the source of the jacket are included in a short letter for reference.
  • Detroit Red Wings player Herb Lewis wore this style of jacket in the attached image from a Life Magazine article from the time period. Magazine is included for photo reference
  • Very good condition; clear signs of use throughout. Two buttons missing. No tags. Some rips and tears most notably on the right shoulder, cuffs, and hemline. A notable tear on the upper rear collar appears to have been team repaired. Some scuffs and stains most notably around the waist and on the sleeves. Jacket has remained almost fully intact despite its age and presents very well
  • Shoulder to hemline 28”, Pit to pit 23” with jacket closed
  • Thompson was a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender
  • In the NHL he compiled 553 regular season games played with 284 wins and a 2.08 GAA
  • He was a 4x Vezina Trophy winner and won the Stanley cup in 1929
  • Thompson played two seasons with the Detroit Red Wings after being traded by the Boston Bruins
  • Tiny Thompson died in Calgary in 1981
