- Spalding's Official Golf Guide Containing the 44 page Official Rules and Regulations as Authorized and Adopted by the United States Golf Association along with the Constitution and By-Laws of Clubs. Also includes a rare 10 page addendum announcing the opening of Spalding's Bureau of Information in New York City and 9 pages of sports equipment ads. Revised by L.B. Stoddart and published May of 1895 by the American Sports Publishing Co. Photos and Illustrations are included throughout the guide. This rare guide is only preceded by the equally rare 1893 edition. An important reference for the history of American golf these guides continued to be issued into the 1930s. Overall the guide may grade fair understandable for a guide issued over 125 years ago. Regardless this is a rare publication which would be valued addition to any historical golf library.

- Fair condition; both covers are separated with notable material loss along the edges and creasing throughout. Front and back covers also show some light staining and back cover has a hole torn in near the top edge that is also evident on the final few pages. Interior pages are complete and attached, with some creasing, most notably near the right edge. Spine has some paper residue from the covers and staples show some oxidation. Minimal discolouration along the edges and a few odd knicks. Interior pages are largely well preserved for their age
